Congratulations to
Fannin County Fire Department
on the purchase of 64 MSA SCBA's
(Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) all complete with spare cylinders and face pieces. Firefighters use these while fighting fires to provide protection to their respiratory tract and to enable them to enter smoke filled areas safely. Every frontline fire engine in Fannin County is now equiped with four complete SCBA's which are interchangeable. Fannin County also purchased an MSA 5200 Thermal Imaging Camera which will be used to detect variations of heat in dark or smoke filled conditions enabling firefighters to detect fire in an enclosed wall or locate a victim.

Fannin County recieved the AFG
(Assistance to Firefighters Grant).
This is a Federal Grant which helps to provide fire departments with needed equipment.
